Cross-border cooperation between Taiwan and Thailand has produced excellent results! The Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau (MJIB) and Thai law enforcement agencies worked together to arrest fugitive criminal Lee Chen 〇 Yin in Thailand’s capital Bangkok on May 9 and escort her back to Taiwan.

Lee Chen 〇 Yin was the person in charge of Blue 〇 Realty Co. in Thailand. From 2016 to 2018, Lee illegally diverted more than 600 million baht on behalf of Blue 〇 Property Group (including Blue 〇 Realty Co. in Taiwan and Blue 〇 Realty Co. in Thailand), which is believed to violate the Banking Act. The case was investigated by the MJIB’s Kaohsiung City Field Division and forwarded to the Kaohsiung District Prosecutor’s Office, where the suspect was indicted on February 18, 2021. A wanted notice was issued on April 29, 2021.

The case was jointly handled by the MJIB’s legal attache, police affairs, and immigration secretaries in Thailand, with the MJIB informing the Thai Immigration Bureau of Lee Chen 〇 Yin’s whereabouts. Thanks to the cooperation between the Taiwanese and Thai law enforcement agencies, the Thai Immigration Bureau was able to arrest Lee at her residence in Bangkok on March 26. The fugitive’s escort was conducted by the MJIB’s legal secretary in Thailand, and Lee arrived at Taoyuan International Airport on a China Airlines flight on the afternoon of May 9. The Kaohsiung City Field Division was responsible for handing over the suspect to the Kaohsiung District Prosecutor’s Office, showing the MJIB’s determination to pursue fugitives and stop illegal activities.
